If you’ve signed up for two-factor authentication, then the first thing you need to do is spring clean the devices associated with your account. This will make sure that only known devices are allowed to log in to Facebook. Start at the bottom of the list with the oldest devices and tick the check boxes on all of them. Login approvals
Facebook offers a security feature called Login Approvals. You can enable this feature by going to Account Settings> Security> Login Approvals. Next, you should clean up the list of associated devices. This will ensure that only the devices you know are allowed to login. Start by adding your oldest device to the bottom of the list. Then, tick the check boxes on all the devices you use most often. Then, move up the list until you’ve cleared all the devices. If you have a device that you don’t trust, you should remove it.
If you’d prefer to use an authentication method other than a phone number, you can also use the two-factor authentication (MFA) system. To enable MFA, you must first add a trusted device to the list of devices. This security measure prevents hackers from accessing your account.
Using two-factor authentication is the best method for protecting your account and password. It makes it difficult for attackers to brute-force your passwords and steal your private data. But if you are not able to add a trusted device, you will still have to use your password to log in to your account.
Authenticator apps
To make sure that your account is safe from identity theft, you can add a trusted device to Facebook. Facebook offers several ways to do this, including a security key or an authentication app. A security key is a small device that generates a one-time code. The authentication app sends a code that is valid for 30 seconds and can be used to log into your Facebook account.
Once you’ve installed the app on your device, you’ll have to sign in with the security key. This requires your device to be close by when you sign in. This saves you from having to enter two security codes when you access your account. Moreover, it protects your account’s data from unauthorized access. To enable this feature, you have to enter your email address, password, and 6-digit code from an authenticator app or a backup code. Then, tick the option to use two-factor authentication.
If you’re concerned about losing or misplacing your phone, you can always turn off two-factor authentication on Facebook. You’ll need to confirm your choice before the feature is disabled. Off-Facebook Activity menu
To download your Off-Facebook activity, log in to Facebook and select the “Download Your Information” link. You will see a page with the names of the companies and ads you’ve interacted with. This will also show the information you gave them.
If you want to disable off-Facebook activity, you can use the Settings and Privacy menu on Facebook. The Off-Facebook Activity menu is in the fourth broad category titled “Your Facebook information”. From here, you can view and manage your Off-Facebook activity. You can also clear your history and manage your future activity.
